Personal Training Apprentice

Working Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week (including early mornings, evenings, and weekends)
Salary: In line with the National Apprenticeship Wage (depending on age)
Apprenticeship Provider: Lifetime Training
Duration: 12–18 months
Job Purpose:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Personal Trainer Apprentice. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the fitness industry while working towards your Level 3 Personal Training qualification through an apprenticeship. You'll support the day-to-day running of the gym, assist with client training and member services, and learn from experienced professionals in a friendly and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct fitness assessments, consultations, and induction sessions for new members.

Demonstrate exercises with correct form and technique to ensure members feel confident and supported.

Contribute to maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming gym environment

Provide guidance on the safe and effective use of gym equipment, including machines and free weights.

Supervise the gym floor regularly in line with health and safety protocols, ensuring members are exercising safely.

Serve as a point of contact for members during your shift, addressing any queries, concerns, or issues professionally.

Carry out regular health and safety checks as directed by management.

Welcome and support new members through the full onboarding process, including gym tours and application completion, ensuring the membership database is kept up to date.

Maintain high standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the gym, including general housekeeping duties.

Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, responding to emails, contacting members, and updating the website and social media platforms.

Ensure all members adhere to our Code of Conduct and terms of their membership agreement.

Attend regular team meetings or one-to-one meetings with your line manager, as requested.

Stay committed to your apprenticeship studies and regularly update the manager on your progress.

Adhere to the gym’s dress code and maintain a high standard of professionalism at all times

Support and participate in promotional events or activities as required.

Perform any other reasonable duties requested by management in line with the role.

Essential:

A genuine passion for health, fitness, and helping others

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team

Comfortable working early mornings, evenings and weekends
Desirable:

Previous experience in a gym or sporting environment (e.g. school sports, coaching, volunteering)

Familiarity with gym equipment and confidence in the gym environment
